Memories from a past teacher...

I embarked on my journey at Rosemead back in 2012, a bright-eyed trainee teacher eager to learn the ropes. That first year was a whirlwind of discovery, setting the stage for an eight-year adventure. I had the joy of teaching Year 1 and Year 2 and even leading KS1, all the way until my first son was born.

From the moment I set foot in Rosemead, I knew it was a special place. The sense of community was palpable, and the children and parents were an absolute delight! It instantly felt like home. There was a warmth that enveloped you as soon as you walked through the doors, and it was clear that Rosemead was more than just a school; it was a family.

One of my fondest memories is running the Little Voices club. Watching the children blossom in confidence and radiate joy as they performed together was simply magical. The sheer enthusiasm and excitement they brought to each session were infectious. It was in those moments that I saw the true power of encouragement and support, and the incredible impact it can have on young minds.

If I were to sum up Rosemead in three words, they would be community, nurturing, and creative. The nurturing environment put the children at the heart of everything, allowing us to teach to their strengths and interests. Creativity thrived here, with management trusting teachers to infuse their ideas into the curriculum. This freedom to innovate made teaching at Rosemead a truly rewarding experience. The parents' active involvement through the PTA and governing body created a seamless bridge between home and school, fostering a true community spirit.

Rosemead will always hold a special place in my heart. In many ways, I grew up during those eight years, just like the children I taught. The staff, children, and parents shaped the teacher I am today. It’s wonderful to see people reconnecting with the school because it's the people, past and present, who make Rosemead the extraordinary place it is. The relationships built here are enduring, and the sense of belonging never fades.
